The situation

Thursday 10 September 2026. Nare wants a "Nap study prep" reading list she can build over several questions. The first prototype kept "the current list" per connection, and her desktop assistant (in this simulated lab) opens a fresh connection for each question, so the list kept vanishing. Tomas asks how a slow job could show its progress, and how he would stop it.

Both questions are about what lives between two requests. This lesson follows the reading list through a legacy session, two separate connections, a paged listing and a set of links, and runs a slow reindex to watch progress and cancellation.
